For the past few days, we have been to Vancouver and back to Seattle, and so, started the journey. We rode Amtrak Cascades to Vancouver BC, a city with an excellent light rail system. After checking in at Holiday Inn Express, we walked over to Bella Pizza and had a bite to eat (I think that the pizza was decent). After that, we rode the SkyTrain to Burrard station and explored the area. There is a great gelato shop on Robson street called Gelarmony, and it serves very good chocolate gelatos. Their mango sorbet was not so great, though. After the treat, we left on the bus to Burnaby. I have a relative living in Burnaby, and we had dinner at her house. To end the day, we got some exercise by walking back to the Gilmore SkyTrain station. As we walked, there was a beautiful sunset marking the end of the Solstice.
The next day, we got up at 5:30 AM to catch a SkyTrain to Waterfront station, then transfer to the Canada Line to get to Bridgeport station. After waiting for the bus for about 20 minutes, our next bus, the 620, whisked us away on the highway to Tsawwassen ferry terminal. By then I was hungry for some breakfast, and that's when I boarded the ferry. The Coastal Cafe served delicious oatmeal right onboard the ferry, and during the 1.5 hour sailing there was some amazing views! Our next bus was a Double-Decker Alexander Dennis Enviro 500, and it took us a short distance south to Sidney, BC.
In Sidney we went to the Sidney Bakery, which I can give the
Best Bakery of the West Coast award to.
After that, we took a two-hour ferry across the border, then a couple express buses back to Seattle.
